Basketball Game Preview: Schenectady Patriots vs. Bethlehem Central Eagles

The Schenectady Patriots are taking a road trip to square off against the Bethlehem Central Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Schenectady knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight matches -- so hopefully Bethlehem Central likes a good challenge.

Schenectady is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They managed a 79-74 victory over Catholic Central on Thursday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Patriots' disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 453rd, while the Crusaders are ranked 177th).

Meanwhile, Bethlehem Central waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Spartans, sneaking past 54-51. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Eagles have posted since December 22, 2023.

The win got Bethlehem Central back to even at 4-4. As for Schenectady, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-8.

Schenectady came up short against Bethlehem Central in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 66-59. Can Schenectady avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
