Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Caroline Long and Lexy Gibbons Lead Arcanum to Victory

There's no place like home for Arcanum, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They walked away with a 53-44 victory over the Twin Valley South Panthers on Thursday. The Trojans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Panthers, too.

Arcanum was led to victory by Lexy Gibbons and Caroline Long. Gibbons posted 24 points and eight rebounds, while Long dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 boards. The dominant performance gave Gibbons a new career-high in rebounds.

Arcanum smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in five consecutive matches.

Arcanum's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-7. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points per game. As for Twin Valley South, their loss dropped their record down to 9-7.
