Basketball Recap: Jayden Beyan Key Part of a Team Effort in Spiders Win

Concord won the last time they faced West Rowan and things went their way on Friday too. The Concord Spiders took down the West Rowan Falcons 73-56.

Concord's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jayden Beyan, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. Beyan also grabbed five steals, which is notable because Concord is 9-2 when he posts at least three steals, but 4-5 otherwise. Jaden Reid was another key player, putting up 11 points and eight boards.

Concord smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 25 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since the start of last season.

Concord has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. As for West Rowan, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-13.

Concord and West Rowan could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. Concord will take on Robinson at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday down 153 places (249 vs. 96). Meanwhile, West Rowan (ranked 458th) will meet Northwest Cabarrus (ranked 186th) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
