Preview: Regis Jesuit Raiders vs. Valor Christian Eagles

Regis Jesuit is on a ten-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Valor Christian is on a ten-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Regis Jesuit Raiders will take on the Valor Christian Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Regis Jesuit will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 77th, while Valor Christian is ranked fifth).

Last Saturday, Regis Jesuit was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 43-37 to Sanford. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Regis Jesuit has scored all season.

Despite the loss, Regis Jesuit got a solid performance out of Coryn Watts, who scored 11 points along with five assists and four steals. Watts set a new season high mark in steals with four. The team also got some help courtesy of Jane Rumpf, who scored five points along with five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Valor Christian didn't have too much trouble with Arapahoe on the road on Friday as they won 67-50.

Valor Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Peyton Jones out in front who scored 26 points along with three steals. The contest was Jones' third in a row with at least ten points. Quinn Vansickle was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with five steals.

Regis Jesuit's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Valor Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

Regis Jesuit came up short against Valor Christian in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, falling 61-54. Thankfully for Regis Jesuit, Macey Huard (who scored 21 points along with nine rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
