Baseball Recap: Southern Wells Takes a Loss

Southern Wells lost against Daleville back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Raiders fell just short of the Broncos by a score of 11-10. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Trey Slusher was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Robby Freimuth, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Southern Wells' record now sits at 8-7. As for Daleville, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.

Looking ahead, Southern Wells will be playing at home against Jay County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Raiders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season. As for Daleville, they will take on Wes-Del in a tournament on Tuesday. The Warriors have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.21 runs per game on average), something the Broncos will no doubt try to take advantage of.
