Football Recap: Carbondale Takes a Loss

Saturday just wasn't the day for Carbondale's offense. They were outmatched by the Belleville East Lancers and fell 45-0.

Deasia Willis was her usual excellent self, throwing for 190 yards and five touchdowns while completing 90.9% of her passes for Belleville East. Those five passing touchdowns gave Willis a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cassidy Willis, who picked up 71 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Carbondale's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Belleville East, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-1.

Carbondale does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Belleville East, they will square off against Mascoutah at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Lancers are facing the Indians at the right time seeing as the Indians are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
