Volleyball Recap: Newnan Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Newnan had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell just short of the St. Anne-Pacelli Vikings by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Newnan actually scored more points across those five sets (103-89), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-20, 12-25, 12-25, 15-13.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Newnan will square off against Heard County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for St. Anne-Pacelli, they are headed away from home for the first time to take on Pike County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
