Softball Recap: Corbin Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Corbin waltzed into their game on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Leslie County Eagles. This was a revenge game for the Redhounds: when they faced off against the Eagles back in March, they had to take a 5-3 loss.

Sawyer Stamper spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on seven hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Chloe Bays was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Corbin's win bumped their record up to 9-17. As for Leslie County, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 15-10 record.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Corbin will face off against Whitley County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Leslie County, they will host Jackson County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Generals' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
