There's no place like home for Tonopah, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. Everything went their way against the Beaver Dam Diamondback on Saturday as they made off with a 13-3 win. Considering the Muckers have won five contests by more than nine runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Alyssa Maurer made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Liberty Deck was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs. Those two triples gave her a new career-high.
Tonopah was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .389. They are 5-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Tonopah has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.8 runs over those games. As for Beaver Dam, their loss was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-13.
The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Tonopah beat the Diamondback by a score of 26-16 later that day.
