Basketball Game Preview: Portage Central Mustangs vs. Kalamazoo Central Maroon Giants

Portage Central hasn't had much luck against Kalamazoo Central recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Portage Central Mustangs will square off against the Kalamazoo Central Maroon Giants at 7:00 p.m.

Last Saturday, Portage Central ended up a good deal behind Lakeview and lost 63-48.

Meanwhile, Kalamazoo Central got the win against Gull Lake on Thursday by a conclusive 66-46. The Maroon Giants have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 20 points or more this season.

Portage Central now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Kalamazoo Central, their win bumped their record up to 7-1.

Portage Central was able to grind out a solid victory over Kalamazoo Central in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, winning 76-68. The rematch might be a little tougher for Portage Central since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
