Basketball Recap: Stanton County Victorious

With a playoff win on the line, Stanton County rose to the challenge on Friday. They came out on top against the Syracuse Bulldogs by a score of 54-43. Surprisingly, this marked the third straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Avery Scott continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double with 23 points and 21 boards. Stanton County is 3-1 when Scott posts 20 or more points, but 8-9 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Kynzi Fehringer, who posted eight points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

Stanton County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 19 consecutive matchups.

Stanton County now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Syracuse, their loss dropped their record down to 11-9.

As of now, neither Stanton County nor Syracuse have any future games scheduled.
