Heights entered their tilt with Westside on Thursday with seven consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with eight. They put the hurt on the Wolves with a sharp 16-1 win. Considering the Bulldogs have won eight games by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Sara Paniagua made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Flora Moreno, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February. Helen Maddux was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.

Heights was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Heights' victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-7. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Westside, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-13.

Coming up, Heights will take on Fort Bend Hightower at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Westside does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
