The Reed Raiders and the Reno Huskies squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Reed Raiders had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Huskies by a score of 47-44. Reed's loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Several Raiders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tj Coulter, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds. It was the first time this season that Coulter pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Dominic Williams, who scored 15 points.
Harvey Smerdon was his usual excellent self, scoring 18 points for Reno. The team also got some help courtesy of Levi Boyd, who scored six points along with four steals.
Reed's loss dropped their record down to 17-11. As for Reno, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season.
Reed does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Reno, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Damonte Ranch at 6:00 p.m. on February 17th.
