Great Falls and Richard Winn Academy are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2016, but likely not for long. The Red Devils will face off against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
The home team had won the previous five meetings between Great Falls and C.A. Johnson, and Great Falls kept the tradition alive. The Red Devils walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Green Hornets on Friday.
Meanwhile, Richard Winn Academy got the win against Jefferson Davis Academy on Thursday by a conclusive 15-5. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won five games by ten runs or more so far this season.
Haley Ann Prevatt made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and three RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Abby Lewis, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Langley Thompson, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.
Richard Winn Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .647. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.
Great Falls is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Richard Winn Academy, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Great Falls might still be hurting after the 15-2 defeat they got from Richard Winn Academy when the teams last played back in March of 2025. Can the Red Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
