The Bishop Manogue Miners will take on the Damonte Ranch Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bishop Manogue has given up an average of 34.2 points per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Bishop Manogue is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Spanish Springs, who was ranked second at the time (Bishop Manogue was ranked eighth). The Miners were dealt a 46-14 loss at the hands of the Cougars on Friday. The matchup marked the Miners' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Bishop Manogue might have lost, but man, Amir McGruder was a machine: he rushed for 142 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries. McGruder has become a key player for the Miners: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-3 otherwise. Another back making a difference was Evan Escovedo, who rushed for 94 yards and one TD on only eight carries.

Meanwhile, Damonte Ranch came up short against Reed on Friday and fell 27-20. The defeat continues a trend for the Mustangs in their meetings with the Raiders: they've now lost five in a row.

Damonte Ranch's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Bishop Manogue, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 5-4.
