Basketball Game Preview: Fort Knox Eagles vs. Eminence Warriors

The Fort Knox Eagles will challenge the Eminence Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Fort Knox has struggled recently with 12 losses in a row, while Eminence will arrive with seven straight wins.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 76-49, which was the final score in Fort Knox's tilt against Central Hardin on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 265th, while the Bruins are ranked 68th).

While Eminence didn't have the best season last year (they finished 3-21), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past Carroll County 69-39 on Friday. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 29 points or more this season.

Eminence is also on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.2 points per game. As for Fort Knox, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-12.

Fort Knox ended up a good deal behind Eminence when the teams last played on January 2nd, losing 66-50. Can Fort Knox avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
