Basketball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Bradford

Bradford had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. They walked away with a 49-39 victory over the Fort White Indians. The score was all tied up 22-22 at the break, but the Tornadoes were the better team in the second half.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bradford to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ar'Nayshia Griffin, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 15 boards. The matchup was Griffin's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brown Nichelle, who went 7 of 12 on her way to 15 points and five boards.

Bradford smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in four consecutive contests.

When it comes to explaining why Fort White lost, don't look at Isreal Hart. Despite the final result, she made all 6 shots she took to post 16 points in addition to seven assists and four blocks. Hart continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ya'Zuri Hollie, who made all 5 shots she took to post 15 points.

Bradford pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points per game. As for Fort White, they moved to 6-2 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Bradford didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 47-39 victory against Hawthorne on the 18th. As for Fort White, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 70-19 win against Branford on the 17th.
