Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pueblo). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Rincon/University Rangers 55-6. The team ran away with 54 points in the first half and mostly just sat on those to pick up the victory.

Pueblo can attribute much of their success to Roman Otero, who rushed for 40 yards and one touchdown, and also threw for 93 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 71.4% of his passes. Those 40 rushing yards gave Otero a new career-high.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Pueblo was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 321 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Pueblo didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Anthony Sanchez and Lorenzo Romero. Romero got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The win was the third in a row for Pueblo, bringing their record up to 3-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.3 points over those games. As for Rincon/University, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
