Football Recap: Bel Air Highlanders vs. Eastlake Falcons

Bel Air kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They came up short against the Eastlake Falcons, falling 70-50. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it 12 in a row.

Angel Dominguez and Marquette Beard certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Dominguez threw for 537 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.9 yards per attempt, while Beard picked up 266 receiving yards and four scores. Beard was no stranger to the big play, connecting on a big catch that went for 65 yards. Another receiver making a difference was Christopher Garza, who picked up 139 receiving yards and one TD.

Julian Williams was a one-man wrecking crew For Eastlake. as he threw for 343 yards and five touchdowns on only 14 passes, and also punched in one score on the ground. Junior Trotman was Williams' top target, picking up 83 receiving yards and one TD, while also rushing for 81 yards and one score.

Coming up, Bel Air will welcome Irvin at 7:00 p.m. on September 5. As for Eastlake, they are taking a road trip to challenge Permian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
