Football Recap: Bel Air Highlanders vs. Eastlake Falcons
Bel Air kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They lost 70-50 to the Eastlake Falcons. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it 12 in a row.
Bel Air lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Angel Dominguez, who threw for 537 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.9 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 102 yards and one score. 266 of Dominguez's passing yards were hauled in by Marquette Beard, who also brought in four receiving touchdowns.
Julian Williams was a one-man wrecking crew For Eastlake. as he threw for 343 yards and five TDs on only 14 passes, and also punched in one score on the ground. Junior Trotman was Williams' top target, picking up 83 receiving yards and one touchdown, while also rushing for 81 yards and one TD.
Looking ahead, Bel Air will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Irvin at 7:00 p.m. on the 5th. As for Eastlake, they will hit the road for the first time this season to square off against Permian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
