Basketball Game Preview: Kountze Lions vs. Hardin Hornets

The Kountze Lions will take on the Hardin Hornets in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Kountze will be strutting in after a victory while Hardin will be coming in after a defeat.

Kountze's tournament run continued when they took on Hardin-Jefferson on Saturday. Kountze simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Hardin-Jefferson 97-58. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 29 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Hardin was not able to break out of their rough patch last Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 52-42 to Spurger. One positive for the Hornets, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Kountze pushed their record up to 13-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 85.2 points per game. As for Hardin, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Everything came up roses for Kountze against Hardin when the teams last played back in January, as the squad secured a 115-33 victory. In that matchup, Kountze amassed a halftime lead of 69-12, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
