Soccer Game Preview: Newport vs. Kettle Falls

Newport is a perfect 3-0 against Kettle Falls since September of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Grizzlies will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m.

On Tuesday, neither Newport nor Reardan could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 3-3 draw.

Meanwhile, Kettle Falls fell victim to Freeman and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They lost 9-0 to the Scotties. While losing is never fun, Kettle Falls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked 205th, while Freeman are ranked 63rd).

Kettle Falls' defeat dropped their record down to 2-4-1. Newport's draw gives them a new season record of 1-3-2.

Newport was able to grind out a solid victory over Kettle Falls when the teams last played back in October of 2024, winning 5-3. Will the Grizzlies repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
