Basketball Recap: Braydon Schwartzkopf Key Part of a Team Effort in Kings Win

Calvary Baptist Academy posted their closest victory since January 19, 2024 on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 48-45 win over the Meridian Mustangs. The Kings didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this victory makes it their second in a row.

Calvary Baptist Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Braydon Schwartzkopf, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 12 points in addition to eight assists and seven boards. The dominant performance gave Schwartzkopf a new career-high in assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Daniels, who went 5 for 6 on his way to 13 points and three steals.

Schwartzkopf wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Calvary Baptist Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Calvary Baptist Academy's victory bumped their record up to 3-8. As for Meridian, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

Calvary Baptist Academy will challenge Coleman at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Meridian, they will face off against Pinconning at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Pinconning will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Meridian surely won't give up without a fight.
