Basketball Game Preview: Pickerington North Panthers vs. Grove City Greyhounds

Pickerington North is 1-9 against Grove City since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Pickerington North Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Grove City Greyhounds at 7:30 p.m.

Last Saturday, Pickerington North lost to Olentangy Berlin on the road by a 55-36 margin. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 402nd, while the Bears are ranked 106th).

Meanwhile, Grove City came tearing into Tuesday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Patriots 46-44. While the Greyhounds didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Pickerington North's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Grove City, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.

Pickerington North suffered a grim 45-25 defeat to Grove City in their previous meeting back in February. Can Pickerington North avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
