Basketball Recap: Spring Valley Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Spring Valley picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They rang in the new year with a 66-57 win over the Lee Williams Volunteers. Given the Grizzlies' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 36th in Nevada, while the Volunteers are ranked 179th in Arizona), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Spring Valley has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.0 points per game. As for Lee Williams, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-6.

Spring Valley will host Las Vegas at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lee Williams, they are taking a road trip to challenge Mingus at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
