Basketball Recap: Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln Takes a Loss

Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln lost against Marshfield back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln Red Raiders took a 70-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Marshfield Tigers.

Marshfield's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zaida Kolbeck, who went 6 for 12 on her way to 20 points along with eight assists and five rebounds. Those eight assists gave Kolbeck a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mckenzie Holm, who almost dropped a triple-double on 14 points, ten boards, and nine assists.

Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Marshfield, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln will square off against New London at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Marshfield, they will take on D.C. Everest at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Marshfield knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully D.C. Everest likes a good challenge.
