Preview: Laguardia vs. Hunter College Hawks
Laguardia is on a three-game streak of home losses, Hunter College a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. Laguardia will take on the Hunter College Hawks at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Wednesday, Laguardia was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 56-51 to Health Profession.
Meanwhile, Hunter College was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap last Wednesday as they fell 57-52 to Beacon.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Braden Li, who scored 13 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Justin Wu, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Laguardia's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Hunter College, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.
Laguardia might still be hurting after the 93-69 loss they got from Hunter College in their previous matchup back in November of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Hunter College's Noah Kay, who dropped a double-double on 36 points and ten rebounds. Now that Laguardia knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
