Perry took care of business in their home opener on Monday (and then some). They blew past the Hoover Huskies 51-14. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Bluejays as it put an end to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Perry found their leader in sophomore Lily Meyers, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Meyers a new career-high in offensive rebounds (eight). Another player making a difference was Taryn Nehring, who scored six points plus ten rebounds and seven steals.

Hoover is on an 18-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Perry will take on Greene County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hoover, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Mason City at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
