Softball Recap: Agricultural Science Wins Going Away Against Clemente

Agricultural Science made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Clemente, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Cyclones were the clear victors by a 24-9 margin over the Wildcats on Wednesday. The game marked the Cyclones' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Ariana Alcantar was a standout: she scored five runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Those five runs gave her a new career-high. Shealanay Williams was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and four RBI.

Agricultural Science always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .822. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Clemente only posted an OBP of .500.

The win (which was Agricultural Science's third in a row) raised their record to 4-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.3 runs over those games. As for Clemente, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Agricultural Science is set to face off against their familiar foe Juarez at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Clemente will take on rival Carver at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
