Basketball Recap: Seekonk Comes Up Short

Seekonk was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were one points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 44-43 heartbreaker at the hands of the Norton Lancers. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lancers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February.

Seekonk lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Johnny Payne, who went 6 of 13 on his way to 15 points and three steals. Payne's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Travis Pereira, who posted nine points in addition to six rebounds and three blocks.

Seekonk's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Norton, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Seekonk and North Attleborough will round out the year against one another at at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Norton, they will challenge Blue Hills RVT at 6:45 p.m. on January 2, 2025.
