Volleyball Recap: Penn Cambria Comes Up Short

Penn Cambria was the 3-2 winner over Penns Valley Area when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Panthers fell just short of the Rams by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Penn Cambria ultimately came up short, they really made Penns Valley Area work, particularly in the fourth set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 24-26, 22-25, 26-24, 15-7.

Despite the loss, Penn Cambria saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Madelyn Kittell had 38 assists and six digs. Those 38 assists set a new season-high mark for Kittell.

Penn Cambria's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8-1. As for Penns Valley Area, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-8.

Penn Cambria has already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Bellwood-Antis on the 6th. As for Penns Valley Area, they will challenge Tyrone at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
