East Duplin is 8-0-1 against South Lenoir since September of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Panthers will host the Blue Devils at 6:30 p.m. The timing is sure in East Duplin's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while South Lenoir has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.

East Duplin was handed a three-goal defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Monday. They had just enough and edged out Pender 3-2. Given East Duplin's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 140th, while Pender are ranked 312th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, South Lenoir kept a clean sheet against Southwest Onslow on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Stallions 1-0.

South Lenoir's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-8 and their overall record up to 6-12-2. As for East Duplin, their win bumped their record up to 13-7-2.

East Duplin beat South Lenoir 2-0 when the teams last played two weeks ago. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Blue Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
