Softball Recap: Lakewood Drops Season-High Score on Red Springs

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lakewood). They put the hurt on the Red Springs Red Devils with a sharp 19-12 win on Friday.

Ryleigh Miller was a standout: she scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-4. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kiyah Braxton, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs.

Lakewood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Lakewood's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5-1. As for Red Springs, their loss was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-8.

Lakewood will have a chance to go back-to-back against Red Springs: the pair will be back at it again later today.
