Recap: Spencer Greenwave vs. Central Chargers
After a string of eight wins, the Spencer Greenwave's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They were the victim of a rough 62-36 defeat at the hands of Central. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Spencer in their matchups with Central: they've now lost eight in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Spencer lost, one person who can't be blamed is Malaja Dyous. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds.
Spencer's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-7. As for Central, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Spencer will challenge Academy for Classical Education at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Spencer focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Tuesday. As for Central, they will head out on the road to challenge Southwest at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Central has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 519 points over their last eight contests.
