Basketball Preview: Belleview Christian Bruins vs. Rocky Mountain Lutheran Eagles
The Belleview Christian Bruins will head out on the road to face off against the Rocky Mountain Lutheran Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Belleview Christian has eight straight wins, the Eagles have 13 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Even though Flatirons Academy scored an imposing 56 points on Thursday, Belleview Christian still came out on top. Belleview Christian took their match against the Bison 68-56.
It was another big night for Brandon Ewing, who scored 25 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Ewing is crushing the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Collin Polson, who almost dropped a double-double on nine rebounds and nine assists.
Meanwhile, Rocky Mountain Lutheran suffered a rough 57-37 defeat at the hands of the Wolves on Thursday.
Belleview Christian's win was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.1 points per game. As for Rocky Mountain Lutheran, their loss dropped their record down to 1-13.
Everything came up roses for Belleview Christian against the Eagles in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 93-45 win. With Belleview Christian ahead 60-18 at the half, the match was all but over already.
