Basketball Recap: San Miguel Comes Up Short

San Miguel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Desert Christian Eagles and fell 57-21. The Vipers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-3.

Tyson Dobbins was his usual excellent self, going 8 for 18 en route to 20 points in addition to seven rebounds and seven steals for Desert Christian. Dobbins has been hot for a while, having posted 20 or more points the last 12 times he's played. Cooper Payne was another key player, putting up seven points along with five boards and four steals.

San Miguel's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Desert Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-2 record this season.

San Miguel has already played their next contest (against Tombstone), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Desert Christian will head out on the road to take on St. David at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
