Baseball Game Preview: Woodland Bobcats vs. University Charter Trail Blazers

For the second straight game, Woodland will face off against University Charter. The Bobcats will face off against the Trail Blazers at 10:00 a.m. on Friday.

Woodland heads in on the heels of a playoff match on Thursday. They fell 5-2 to University Charter. The Bobcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For University Charter's part, Michael Gibson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up eight Ks. Gibson has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, University Charter let Jonah Dubose and Josiah Dubose run wild. Jonah went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double, while Josiah went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most hits Josiah has posted since back in March.

University Charter hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive contests.

University Charter is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Woodland, their loss dropped their record down to 7-18.
