Basketball Game Preview: MacArthur Cardinals vs. Lake Highlands Wildcats

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the MacArthur Cardinals challenge the Lake Highlands Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday... The timing is sure in MacArthur's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Lake Highlands has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.

Last Tuesday, MacArthur didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Nimitz, but they still walked away with a 39-34 victory.

Meanwhile, Lake Highlands came up short against Pearce on Tuesday and fell 37-30. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 833rd, while the Mustangs are ranked 389th).

MacArthur's win ended a 15-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-13. As for Lake Highlands, their loss dropped their record down to 3-13.

MacArthur took a serious blow against Lake Highlands when the teams last played back in January, falling 52-19. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point MacArthur was down 29-8.
