Basketball Recap: Clopton Now 13-2 over Last 15 Games

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Clopton ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They came out on top against the Van-Far Indians by a score of 63-52. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 57-49 two weeks ago.

Van-Far's loss came despite strong showings from Pacey Reading and Gaven Gaston. Reading dropped a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Gaston went 7-for-14 en route to 14 points and three steals. The contest was Reading's fourth in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Bryce Reading, who posted six points.

Clopton has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.9 points over those games. As for Van-Far, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clopton will welcome Bowling Green at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bowling Green will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Clopton surely won't give up without a fight. As for Van-Far, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Wright City at 7:00 p.m. Van-Far is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.1 points per game this season.
