Aliso Niguel dropped down to 11-9 on Wednesday, ending the team's four-game streak of wins. They lost 26-6 to the Trabuco Hills Mustangs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-18 two weeks ago.

Aliso Niguel didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Kayla Amaya and Addison Rudel. Amaya is crushing it when it comes to interceptions: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season.

As for Trabuco Hills, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 10.7 points on average over those games.

Trabuco Hills' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ellie Tapper led the charge by throwing for 211 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 75.8% of her passes, and also punching in two rushing scores. Those two rushing touchdowns gave Tapper a new career-high.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Aliso Niguel is set to take on their familiar foe Mission Viejo at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Trabuco Hills will square off against rival El Toro at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Mustangs 14.4, the Chargers 11.8) so any points scored will be well earned.
