Basketball Recap: Boone Braves vs. Lake Buena Vista Vipers
You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely the Boone Braves's strategy against the Lake Buena Vista Vipers on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Boone blew the Vipers out of the water with a 68-33 final score. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 44-18.
It was another big night for Cheo James, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Makauri Massey, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Lake Buena Vista's loss came despite strong showings from Travis Ligene and Alessandro Ferace. Ligene scored six points along with six assists and two steals, while Ferace scored seven points.
Boone pushed their record up to 12-11 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.7 points per game. As for Lake Buena Vista, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-16.
Boone won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd.
