Volleyball Recap: Calleigh Buzard Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat South Fort Myers

Mariner hadn't done well against South Fort Myers recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Tritons blew past the Wolfpack 3-0. The Tritons were shut out 3-0 the last time they took on the Wolfpack, so the Tritons were just returning the favor.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-10, 25-18.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mariner to victory, but perhaps none more so than Calleigh Buzard, who had six kills and one block.

Mariner was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Fort Myers only served four aces.

Mariner has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. As for South Fort Myers, they dropped their record down to 0-2 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Mariner will hit the road for the first time this season to take on Cape Coral at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Tritons' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for South Fort Myers, they have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Immokalee on the 21st.
