Soccer Game Preview: St. Monica vs. Bosco Tech

The St. Monica Mariners will square off against the Bosco Tech Tigers at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

St. Monica headed into their last game having not scored more than one goal for three straight, but Serra let them put that streak behind them. St. Monica never let Serra onto the board and left with a 6-0 win on Monday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Mariners' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

They hit Serra with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Angel Perez (2), Niklas Barillas (2), Sean Walker, and Basheer Maalouf.

Meanwhile, Bosco Tech hadn't done well against Mary Star of the Sea recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Bosco Tech narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Mary Star of the Sea 2-1. The win was some much needed relief for the Tigers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

St. Monica's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3-2. As for Bosco Tech, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-8.
