            Baseball Recap: Clay Blue Devils vs. Tocoi Creek Toros        
        
		
        
        
            Clay lost against Tocoi Creek back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result  on Tuesday. The Clay Blue Devils fell just short of the Tocoi Creek Toros by a score of  5-4. That's two games in a row now that the Blue Devils have lost by  just one  run.
 Rylan McMahan was a  force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he  struck out eight batters over  4.2 innings while giving up  three earned runs off only  two  hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't  given up  more than two  hits in five consecutive appearances.

 At the plate, Clay saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  JC Rosette, who  went 1-for-2 with two  RBI and one  double. Those  two  RBI gave  Rosette a new career-high.  Cole Carnell was another,  scoring a  run while going 1-for-3.
This is the second loss in a row for Clay and  nudges their season record down to 9-4. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the  defeats came by an average of only one runs. As for Tocoi Creek, their record now sits at 10-2.
 Coming up, Clay will welcome St. Augustine  at 7:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Clay's pitching crew has only allowed 2.5  runs per game  this season, so St. Augustine's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Tocoi Creek, they will head out to  take on Bartram Trail  at 6:30  p.m.  on Thursday.
