Basketball Recap: Portland Takes a Loss

Portland played a tough match on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 57-26 loss at the hands of the East Hampton Bellringers. That's two games in a row now that the Highlanders have lost by exactly 31 points.

Portland's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elizabeth Barr, who posted seven points and seven rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Portland and nudges their season record down to 1-11. As for East Hampton, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-5 record.

Portland will face off against Old Lyme at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for East Hampton, they will head out on the road to square off against Cromwell at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
