Edgewood and Owen Valley are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. The Edgewood Mustangs will host the Owen Valley Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Edgewood is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, everything went Owen Valley's way against Clay City on Wednesday as Owen Valley made off with a 51-26 win. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 25 points or more this season.

Owen Valley found their leader in freshman Aubrey Sparks, who went 13 for 20 on her way to 30 points and seven boards. That's the most points Sparks has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kalyn Greene, who had seven points in addition to five assists and four steals.

Owen Valley was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.

Edgewood's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Owen Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 12-5.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Edgewood has been crashing the rebounds this season, having averaged 27.4 boards per game.
