New Castle had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.4 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Saturday. They came within a single point of losing the streak, but they secured a 57-56 W against the Aliquippa Quips. The Hurricanes have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Quips, too.

New Castle was led to victory by Ralphie Blundo and Damian Harrison. Blundo went 7 of 11 on his way to 18 points, while Harrison went 6 for 8 to rack up 15 points. The dominant performance also gave Harrison a new career-high in shooting accuracy (75%). Another player making a difference was Kyrell Harris, who posted nine points.

New Castle smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in ten consecutive contests.

New Castle's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-3. As for Aliquippa, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-4.

Coming up, New Castle will look to defend their home court on Monday against Bishop Canevin at 7:30 p.m. As for Aliquippa, they will venture away from home to take on Chartiers Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Chartiers Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 21 matches -- so hopefully Aliquippa likes a good challenge.
