Preview: California City Ravens vs. Desert Scorpions
California City has been on the road for two straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Desert Scorpions at 7:30 p.m. Desert took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on California City, who comes in off a win.
Even though Rosamond scored an imposing 58 points on Friday, California City still came out on top. California City pulled ahead with a 59-58 photo finish over Rosamond.
California City's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Cassius 'Hollywood' Brown , who scored 20 points, and Avery Spears, who scored 19 points. That's the first time this season that Spears scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Ty'Ron Jones, who scored three points along with 11 rebounds and eight blocks.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Desert, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 61-46 loss to The Palmdale Aerospace Academy last Thursday.
California City's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Desert, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.
California City strolled past Desert in their previous meeting on December 1st by a score of 51-36. Will California City repeat their success, or does Desert have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
