Softball Recap: Morehead Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Morehead took on West Stokes on Friday. Morehead came up short against West Stokes, falling 19-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost four in a row.

Jenna Mauney made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run marked the first that she launched this season.

Morehead's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for West Stokes, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-1.

Looking ahead, Morehead will square off against McMichael at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Morehead's pitchers better be ready for this one: McMichael has averaged an impressive 10.1 runs per game this season. As for West Stokes, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Reagan at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th.
