Basketball Recap: Drew Beery Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Northside L

Kokomo HomeSchool won the last time they faced Northside L and things went their way on Thursday too. The Kokomo HomeSchool Eagles came out on top against the Northside L Lions by a score of 66-55. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 81st, while the Lions are ranked 211th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Kokomo HomeSchool's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Drew Beery, who went 5-for-12 to rack up 15 points. The game was Beery's fifth in a row with at least 15 points. Jude Hogsett was another key player, putting up 13 points and six rebounds.

Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was CAMERON BRUNK, who almost dropped a double-double with 19 points and nine assists. BRUNK continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was ETHAN RODECKER, who posted 21 points and three steals.

Kokomo HomeSchool is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-7 record this season. Northside L dropped their record down to 16-16-1 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Kokomo HomeSchool didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-39 defeat against Benton HomeSchool on the 14th. As for Northside L, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 55-43 win against Horizon Christian on the 18th.
